Former Karnataka Chief Minister S.M. Krishna Continues to Receive ICU Treatment at Manipal Hospitals
Veteran politician and former Karnataka Chief Minister S.M. Krishna, 91, remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Manipal Hospitals since his admission on April 29 for a minor ailment.
Under the care of a critical care team at Manipal Hospitals, Krishna is currently on adequate life support with a stable condition as confirmed by a hospital statement.
Headed by Dr. Satyanarayana Mysore, HOD and consultant-pulmonology and lung transplant physician, the medical experts are closely monitoring Krishna’s health and providing necessary treatment.
During his tenure, S.M. Krishna served as Chief Minister from October 11, 1999, to May 28, 2004. He was also the External Affairs Minister in the Manmohan Singh-led United Progressive Alliance government from 2009 to 2012, followed by his role as Maharashtra Governor.
In a significant political move, S.M. Krishna joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March 2017, marking the end of his long-standing association with the Indian National Congress. He retired from active politics last year, leaving behind a noteworthy legacy.
