Former NFL Player Daniel Muir and Wife Charged in Domestic Battery Incident Involving Teenage Son
Former NFL player Daniel Muir and his wife are facing charges related to a domestic battery incident involving their teenage son, Bryson Muir. Bryson, 14, was found safe after a two-week search conducted by Indiana State Police and local authorities at the family’s residence in Logansport.
The investigation began when Bryson was last seen leaving his grandmother’s home in Ohio on June 16. Following concerns of potential abuse, police obtained a warrant to search the Muir family home, where Bryson was found unharmed.
Daniel Muir, who played for the Indianapolis Colts and other NFL teams, has been charged with obstruction of justice and domestic battery related to the incident. His wife, Kristin Muir, also faces charges of obstruction in connection to the case.
Kristin Muir’s mother, Cheryl Wright, played a crucial role in the events leading up to Bryson’s safe recovery. She reported seeing injuries on Bryson, including a black eye, split lip, and swollen face, after picking him up in Toledo, Ohio, at the request of his parents.
An unidentified man accompanied Daniel and Kristin Muir when they went to retrieve Bryson, but the boy was no longer in their vehicle when law enforcement intervened. An investigation into possible domestic battery commenced two days later.
Though initially cooperative, the Muir couple failed to bring Bryson to a scheduled meeting with investigators, prompting further concern for the teenager’s safety. Subsequently, a silver alert was issued, classifying Bryson as ‘missing and endangered.’
Following Bryson’s discovery, he is now in the custody of the Cass County Department of Child Services and is reported to be in good health. Daniel and Kristin Muir were taken into custody and transported to the Cass County Jail. Legal representation for the couple is currently unclear.
