Myeni’s untimely death comes amidst ongoing legal proceedings, with her corruption case alongside Trevor Mathenjwa being postponed by the Johannesburg High Court to November 21 earlier in the year. The case involves charges of corruption and fraud linked to Bosasa amounting to about R300,000, with allegations of gratification received by Myeni from Bosasa’s subsidiary, Sondolo IT.

The Investigative Directorate‘s spokesperson, Henry Mamothame, had previously shed light on the charges, revealing that Myeni allegedly received security upgrades for her home in Richards Bay between May 2014 and March 2015, valued at R200,000. Additionally, she was accused of benefiting from hotel accommodation and travel expenses amounting to over R107,000 provided by Bosasa for herself and individuals close to her.
