Houston Bar Explosion Investigation

HOUSTON, TX – A former owner of the Turkey Leg Hut has been arrested in connection with a 2020 bar explosion. Lyndell “Lynn” Price, 42, was taken into custody along with two others, John Lee Price, 39, and Armani Williams, 27.

The arrests stem from charges of conspiracy to commit arson related to the explosion of Bar 5015, located in Houston. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the blast was intentional and occurred on June 12, 2020, shaking homes in the vicinity and spreading debris across the road.

Authorities allege that Lyndell Price conspired to set the fire as part of a plot against the bar’s owner, who was also a former business partner from the Turkey Leg Hut. Investigators claim Price recruited both John Price and Williams, paying them to pour gasoline on the bar’s entrance ramp before igniting it.

Each suspect faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a potential fine of $250,000 for the commercial building arson charges. Additionally, both Lyndell and John Price are accused of setting fire to a stolen 1975 Chevy Nova in April 2020, adding another five years to their possible sentencing.

The Houston Fire Department confirmed the explosion was under active criminal investigation after determining it had been set intentionally. No injuries were reported in the blast, but the event frightened neighbors awake in the early morning hours.

Lyndell Price is scheduled to appear before a magistrate judge at 2 p.m. on Friday. The investigation also involved the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Investigators had previously released surveillance footage showing individuals pouring gasoline at the bar before the fire. The situation continues to unfold as officials conduct further inquiries.
