Fortnite OG Season 3 Launching March 25 Brings Nostalgic Gameplay

NEW YORK, N.Y. — On March 25, 2025, Epic Games is set to release Fortnite OG Season 3, a nostalgic return to Chapter 1‘s second installment that originally introduced significant gameplay mechanics and map changes. The forthcoming season will feature the highly awaited meteor, along with Lucky Landing and the new OG Pass.
The meteor, a pivotal element of the original Season 3, will return to the skies, delighting veteran players and intriguing newcomers alike. As with its initial launch, the season will focus on significant map alterations and the engagement of players in dynamic, ongoing gameplay.
“We’re excited to bring back so many elements that made Fortnite’s early days memorable,” said an Epic Games spokesperson. “Players will revisit the storyline of the meteor and experience the growing mystery as they battle on the island.”
Fortnite OG Season 3 will launch at approximately 6 a.m. PDT (9 a.m. EDT) following a maintenance downtime, which is expected to begin between 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. EDT. The game’s previous season rollouts support this timing, although official confirmation is still awaited.
In addition to the meteor, players can expect to see Lucky Landing, a new point of interest (POI) that could reignite fond memories of exploration and combat. The developers have also hinted at changes to the loot pool, introducing new and refurbished items, potentially shaking up familiar gameplay strategies.
The OG Pass, priced at 1,000 V-Bucks or available through the Fortnite Crew subscription, promises 45 tiers filled with retro rewards, including several new skins and iconic cosmetics. Details on specific skins are limited, but early visuals from the Season 3 trailer indicate the return of fan-favorites and potentially even new designs.
“Although there’s no confirmation yet on exactly which outfits will return, we can expect a mix of classic styles and new variants,” the spokesperson shared. “Fans should prepare for some surprises—like the new skin with a white space helmet, which hints at exciting possibilities for future releases.”
In line with its prevailing meta, the season may also revive longtime favorites like the Hunting Rifle, promising a diversified gameplay experience that could shift the focus from close-range strategies to long-range engagements. Additionally, the introduction of C4 and possibly the Clinger grenade hints at explosive new strategies.
While the original Season 3 set the stage for Fortnite’s explosive growth, this nostalgia-driven season aims to captivate both new players and long-time fans. As anticipation builds for the launch, players are encouraged to prepare for a battle experience that hearkens back to the beloved past of Fortnite.
