Ashley Elkins Missing Roseville Michigan Investigation

ROSEVILLE, Mich. – Investigators are treating the disappearance of Ashley Elkins, a 30-year-old mother of two from Warren, as a potential case of foul play. Elkins was last heard from on Jan. 2, 2025, after sending a text message to her family indicating she was heading home from a beauty supply store. Her phone last pinged near her ex-boyfriend’s apartment in the Hampton Courts Apartments on Pinehurst Street in Roseville, where authorities conducted a search on Tuesday.

According to a joint press release from the Warren and Roseville Police Departments, investigators recovered ‘significant evidence’ during the search, including forensic materials, which are now being analyzed by the Michigan State Police. A dumpster from the apartment complex was also seized as part of the investigation. Additionally, Elkins’ 2009-2010 Chevy Malibu was found abandoned near 13 Mile and Little Mack, less than four miles from the apartment.

Elkins’ family has expressed frustration with the pace of the investigation. ‘It just took too long,’ said Monika Elkins, Ashley’s mother. ‘It’s like they didn’t care… like she was nobody.’ Natalie Wilson, co-founder of the Black and Missing Foundation, echoed these concerns, noting that six days had passed since Elkins was last seen. ‘It’s very concerning the amount of time that has passed by,’ Wilson said.

Roseville Police have executed nearly 20 search warrants, reviewed video footage, conducted digital forensics, and interviewed multiple individuals connected to the case. Authorities confirmed that Elkins and her ex-boyfriend were not present at the apartment when police initially responded. However, they believe ‘a strong possibility of foul play’ occurred at the location.

Elkins, a hairstylist and devoted mother, is described by her family as someone who would never disappear without explanation. ‘She loves her family, her kids. She would never just disappear for this many days,’ said her sister, Alexis Elkins. The investigation remains ongoing, with multiple law enforcement agencies pursuing several leads.
