Foundation for Investigative Journalism Board Member Invited by Police Over Investigation Report
Bukky Shonibare, the chairman of FIJ’s Board of Trustees, received an invitation from the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre at their Abuja office back in March 2024. This move came after the Force had identified a story published by FIJ regarding how Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the former senior special assistant on Sustainable Development Goals to the President, allegedly made a payment of N147.1 million to an account connected to Enseno Global Ventures, an Abuja-based restaurant. The payment was purportedly for the construction of a classroom.
Ademuyiwa Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer, discussed during a segment on the Channels TV show ‘Politics Today’ that there were ‘two or three weighty allegations’ against FIJ and its founder, Fisayo Soyombo.
