San Antonio Police Officers Shooting Stone Oak

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Four San Antonio police officers were shot Wednesday night while responding to a suicide in progress call at an apartment complex in the Stone Oak area, according to San Antonio Police Chief William McManus.

The incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. in the 18700 block of Stone Oak Parkway. McManus said officers were called to the scene after a family member reported a potential suicide. The first officer to arrive was shot in the lower extremity, followed by two more officers who were also shot. A fourth officer sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body.

All four officers were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. McManus said the officers have between four and eight years of service with the department.

The crime scene remains active, with a SWAT team establishing a perimeter around the apartment complex. Some residents near the shooting were evacuated, while others were advised to stay inside their apartments.

McManus emphasized that the situation is ongoing and urged the public to avoid the area. “This is a very fluid situation, and we are working to ensure the safety of everyone involved,” he said during a late-night news conference.

Authorities have not yet released details about the suspect or the circumstances leading to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
