Los Angeles, CA — Fox Television Network has officially canceled its animated comedy series The Great North after five seasons, the network announced on October 3, 2025. The decision comes just weeks after the fifth season concluded on September 14.

Michael Thorn, president of Fox Television Network, expressed gratitude to the show’s creators, executive producers Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, and Loren Bouchard, stating, “We’re so grateful for everything Wendy, Lizzie, Loren and the amazing cast and crew put into The Great North. It’s difficult to say goodbye, but we’re thankful for the five hilarious seasons The Great North brought to the iconic Animation Domination lineup.”

The cancellation of The Great North follows April’s announcement, where the show was notably missing from Fox’s list of future programming that included renewals for The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers. This absence raised concerns regarding its renewal.

The Great North, which premiered in January 2021, focused on the Tobin family and their adventures in Alaska. The story centers on Beef Tobin, voiced by Nick Offerman, and his daughter Judy, voiced by Jenny Slate, as she navigates her artistic aspirations away from their family fishing business.

Other cast members included Will Forte as Wolf, Dulcé Sloan as Honeybee, Paul Rust as Ham, and Aparna Nancherla as Moon. Judy’s journey also includes interactions with her boss Alyson, voiced by Megan Mullally, and her imaginary friend Alanis Morissette.

The series was praised for its humor and unique storytelling, but its viewership dwindled from over 2 million at its debut to approximately 750,000 by the final season, likely contributing to its cancellation. Despite ending, The Great North is remembered fondly by fans and crew alike.
