Fox Renewed Two Popular Reality Shows for New Seasons

LOS ANGELES, CA — Fox Entertainment announced on May 10, 2025, that it has renewed its hit game show, “The Floor,” for Seasons 4 and 5, along with a second season for the survival series, “Extracted.” The news of the renewal comes just before Fox’s Upfront presentation next week.
“The Floor” is a unique quiz competition where 100 contestants face off on a giant interactive LED floor divided into 100 squares, each representing a separate category of trivia. The first challenger, chosen randomly, selects an opponent and competes in their specific category. The winner claims the opponent’s square, expanding their territory. When only one contestant remains, they can win a cash prize of $250,000.
The show is produced by John De Mol‘s Talpa Studios, in partnership with Eureka Productions and BiggerStage, which films the show in Ireland. Leading executives involved in the production include De Mol, Maartin Meijs, Chris Culvenor, and others. The first season debuted in January 2024, and the third season premiered in February after the Super Bowl. Fox reported that this special edition earlier this year became the highest-rated unscripted entertainment series since 2023.
In addition, “Extracted” features 12 untrained competitors journeying into the harsh Canadian wilderness, where they must survive extreme conditions and dangerous wildlife. Meanwhile, their families watch from a remote headquarters via a live feed, with the power to decide whether to “Extract” their loved ones from the competition for safety. Each episode raises the question of how far families will allow their loved ones to endure for a shot at the $250,000 prize.
Executive producers of “Extracted” include Sylvester Stallone, Rhett Bachner, and showrunner Lauren Taylor Harding. The show premiered in February 2025 and ended its first season in April. Its debut ranked as the highest-rated unscripted series premiere in nearly a year, according to Fox.
Both shows are prominently featured in Fox’s Summer programming as the network shifts its strategy to refresh its content lineup, having recently canceled a number of long-running scripted series.
