The Golden Joystick Awards 2024, held on November 21, 2024, at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London, celebrated another year of excellence in the gaming industry. This 42nd iteration of the awards saw millions of fans voting for their favorite games, developers, and personalities of the last 12 months.

The biggest winners of the night were Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Helldivers 2. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth took home four awards, including Best Storytelling, Best Soundtrack, Best Leading Performer for Cody Christian as Cloud Strife, and Best Supporting Performer for Briana White as Aerith. Helldivers 2 claimed three awards: Best Multiplayer Game, Best Game Trailer, and Console Game of the Year, as well as the Critics' Choice Award.

However, the Ultimate Game of the Year award went to Black Myth: Wukong, developed by Game Science. Despite being nominated in only two categories, Black Myth: Wukong won both the Ultimate Game of the Year and Best Visual Design awards, marking a significant achievement for the debut console developer.

Other notable winners include Astro Bot, which won Best Audio Design and Studio of the Year for Team Asobi. The Most Wanted Game award was dominated by Grand Theft Auto 6, reflecting the high anticipation for its release next year. Lethal Company was named the Best Early Access Game, and the Steam Deck OLED took home the Best Gaming Hardware award.

The ceremony, hosted by Ben Starr, featured special guests, previous winners, and VIPs from the gaming world. Over 12 million votes were cast across more than 20 categories, making this one of the largest and most engaging Golden Joystick Awards to date.
