Barstool Sports Golf Host Tribute

MIAMI, Dominican Republic — The golf world is in mourning following the unexpected death of Barstool Sports host and popular Fore Play podcast co-host, who died over the weekend at the age of 31.

The news was confirmed by Barstool founder Dave Portnoy, who described the loss as “hard to even process.” Franke was attending a wedding in the Dominican Republic when he experienced a sudden medical emergency.

Franke, a graduate of Ferris State University with a degree in PGA Golf Management, was known for his skills as an instructor and his natural ability to connect with others. Before joining Barstool earlier this year, he taught golf in Wisconsin and California. Many of his students praised his patience and upbeat demeanor.

“You will never find a nicer, more genuine person than Beef. Just another cruel reminder that tomorrow is never promised,” Portnoy shared on social media.

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac also expressed her grief, posting, “Heartbreaking news. He was such a kind and good person.” Her touching message resonated with fans, reflecting the compassion Franke was known for.

Social media was flooded with tributes from colleagues and fans alike. Barstool personalities, including PFT Commenter, Rico Bosco, and Barstool Trent, shared heartfelt stories of Franke’s generosity, humor, and love for golf. One fan noted, “Golf is better because of Beef,” encapsulating the community’s profound sense of loss.

Franke’s impact on the golf world extended beyond his podcast and online presence; he was remembered as someone who embodied the spirit of the game. For Spiranac and countless others, his untimely death serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing those who brighten our days.
