Google Fiber Expands High-Speed Internet in Tempe, Arizona

TEMPE, AZ — Google Fiber is expanding its high-speed internet service in Tempe, with construction now underway. The project will install nearly 85,000 linear feet of fiber in the Warner Ranch Neighborhood, aligned with the city’s road repaving efforts.
Google has committed to “work closely with the city and county to minimize disruption to residents” during the construction period, ensuring that local communities are considered.
When the service is operational, it will provide internet options ranging from $70 to $150 monthly for residential customers. Additionally, there will be business-specific packages available at $250 for two-gigabit service or $100 for one-gigabit service.
“Google Fiber wants to be in Arizona like a lot of businesses want to be in Arizona,” said Will Novak, Google Fiber’s government and community affairs manager, highlighting the company’s interest in expanding its presence in the state.
This initiative reflects a growing trend among tech companies to enhance internet infrastructure in various regions, aiming to meet the increasing demand for high-speed connectivity.
