Grocery Store Recalls Products After Content Creator Contaminates Items

KEENE, N.H. — A 23-year-old content creator has been charged with criminal mischief after allegedly posting disturbing videos in which she contaminated food products at a local grocery store with her urine. The incident has prompted an investigation and product recall affecting numerous items at the Monadnock Food Co-Op.
The Keene Police Department initiated its investigation on Feb. 14 after receiving an anonymous tip about Kelli Tedford, who had reportedly shared the videos online. Authorities confirmed that in one clip, she contaminated items at the Monadnock Food Co-Op, leading to a swift response from the police and the store.
Upon notification, Monadnock Food Co-Op removed affected products including red quinoa, tri-color quinoa, cornmeal, and raw walnuts from its shelves. They also sanitized all surfaces and contacted customers who may have purchased the contaminated items. According to their statement, “Our community’s health and safety remain our top priorities.”
The grocery store reported a financial loss of approximately $1,500, attributed to destroyed products and cleaning costs. “While this was a highly unusual situation, we took swift action in accordance with our food safety and recall procedures,” the store added.
As the investigation unfolded, police discovered additional videos suggesting that Tedford had engaged in similar acts extending over a four-year period, with incidents possibly recorded as early as 2021. Keene Police noted, “It appears likely that similar historic incidents occurred in Keene and surrounding communities.”
Tedford was arrested on Feb. 21 and charged with criminal mischief, classified as a Class B felony. She was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled for arraignment on April 7 at the 8th Circuit Court in Keene. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities indicate that further charges may be forthcoming.
The Monadnock Food Co-Op continues to work closely with both the Keene Police Department and the Keene Health Department to ensure that no further risks remain to patrons. Anyone with information about the incident, or who may have purchased contaminated products, is urged to contact police at 603-357-9813.
