Gulf Coast Prepares for Family-Friendly Easter Celebrations

GULF COAST, Miss. (WLOX) – As Easter Sunday approaches, families across the Gulf Coast are gearing up for a variety of festive activities, including Easter egg hunts and special events designed for children. This year’s celebrations will take place the weekend of April 20, 2025, with almost three weeks of festivities leading up to the holiday.
From Fort Morgan to Foley and over to Perdido Key, communities are offering a growing lineup of events that combine traditional holiday spirit with the area’s relaxed coastal vibe. Events will include egg hunts, bunny brunches, worship services by the waterfront, and opportunities for photos with live animals. Many events are family-friendly and free, while others cater specifically to all ages and abilities.
The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber is enhancing holiday cheer with its Easter Bunny Photos at The Wharf starting March 30, where families can capture memorable portraits with cuddly bunnies on select weekends. Live bunnies will be at the chamber’s Orange Beach office, encouraging guests to dress in their Sunday best for the occasion.
From March 29 to April 19, Tanger Outlets Foley will host a professional Easter Bunny Photo Experience in the Food Court. Tanger Club members are offered discounts on photo packages. A Spring Family Fun Fest is set for April 5, featuring face painting, balloon twisting, caricature art, and even an Easter egg hunt starting at 11:30 AM.
Tacky Jacks will host its Brunch with the Bunny from April 5 to April 13, presenting a Bunny Hop Dance Party with a live DJ and activities for kids, allowing families to enjoy food while celebrating with the Easter Bunny.
This year’s SHOW Baldwin, Inc. Easter Egg Hunt promises an inclusive experience designed for special needs children and adults. Scheduled for April 6 at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach, the event features designated egg-hunting areas to accommodate all mobility levels, ensuring that everyone can partake in the fun and fellowship.
Additional family-friendly activities include Breakfast with the Bunny at CoastAL Orange Beach on April 12, featuring festive breakfast offerings and a cookie decorating station. Kids can take photos with the Easter Bunny, all while enjoying a beautiful Gulf-front view.
The Island Church will host an Easter Egg Hunt on April 12, where over 5,000 colorful eggs will be spread out for children to find. The event will also offer free bounce houses, coloring activities, and the chance to cuddle live bunnies.
Meanwhile, Gulf Shores Methodist Church is organizing an egg-citing Easter Egg Hunt on April 13 filled with games, crafts, and hot dogs. Families are welcomed to bring their baskets to join in the hunt for thousands of colorful eggs.
For those that wish to combine worship with the festivities, Church at the Shores will hold multiple Easter services over the holiday weekend, providing a welcoming atmosphere for families and friends to celebrate together.
On April 19, Flora-Bama will offer a unique Easter Bunny Drop, where the Easter Bunny will make a grand entrance via skydiving. The event will include crafts, activities for kids, and an egg hunt on the beach.
The array of events culminates on Easter Sunday, April 20, with gatherings like The Hangout’s Sunrise Service, luau-themed gatherings, and community egg hunts. The Gulf Coast is set for a lively and memorable Easter season, providing numerous opportunities for families to create lasting memories.
