Habitat For Humanity Erie Insurance Homes Construction

ERIE, Pa. — Habitat for Humanity has announced a partnership with Erie Insurance to build two new homes as part of Erie Insurance’s 100th anniversary celebration and Habitat’s ongoing capital campaign.

Construction on the homes is set to begin on April 21, marking the eighth and ninth houses constructed by the two organizations together. This initiative aims to enhance affordable housing options and strengthen community ties.

Erie Insurance employees are encouraged to volunteer throughout the week during construction, contributing their time and skills to the project. ‘Working with Habitat for Humanity allows our employees to give back to the community we’re so proud to be a part of,’ said Erie Insurance spokesperson Jennifer Smith. ‘We believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home.’

Additionally, Habitat for Humanity is seeking volunteers for its current project on East Lawn Parkway, which is still in the construction phase. Community members interested in helping out can visit the Habitat for Humanity website for more information.

This collaborative effort not only aims to provide affordable housing but also fosters a sense of community as volunteers work side by side to create homes for those in need. For those interested in further supporting this initiative, donations can also be made through the Habitat for Humanity website, which aids in covering construction costs.

The partnership illustrates a commitment to addressing homelessness and housing issues in Erie, a community that prides itself on collective action and support for its residents. ‘Every nail hammered is a step toward a better future for families in our community,’ said Habitat for Humanity project manager Tom Green.
