A Heartwarming Bromance at the Olympic Games

In a fantastic display of sportsmanship and friendship, an emocionally charged moment unfolded at the Olympic Games when US sprinter Noah Lyles rushed in to congratulate Swedish pole vault star Armand Duplantis.

Duplantis, just 24, had an incredible day at the Stade de France on August 5th. He began by securing the victory with a stunning 6.00 meter vault and then went on to set a new Olympic Record at 6.10 meters. But Duplantis wasn’t done there; he even cleared 6.25 meters, breaking the World Record for the ninth time!

As he was celebrating his remarkable achievements during a media interview, Lyles couldn’t help but join in on the festivities. “All-star, let’s go!” he yelled with excitement while hugging Duplantis.

Overwhelmed with joy, Duplantis expressed his happiness for the moment. During the interaction, Lyles shared with him, “You know this is the first time I ever got to see you attempt it in person.” Their bond was clear when Lyles said, “I love you man, you’re amazing,” as he left Duplantis for his media obligations.

When asked about the significance of celebrating a world record with someone like Lyles, Duplantis replied, “I don’t think I can just right yet.” He described the experience as crazy, emphasizing that he had always believed he could achieve such heights and that the atmosphere in the stadium was electric.

Now, with two consecutive Olympic golds and a staggering nine world records to his name, Duplantis has solidified his position as one of the greatest in pole vaulting history. His journey began in his family’s backyard, where his father, Greg, a former pole vaulter, helped nurture his talents.

Despite achieving such remarkable feats, Duplantis remains grounded. “Probably one of the moments where I cared least about the future is right now, soaking up this moment right now,” he reflected. He even confessed that his biggest dream was to break the world record at the Olympics, and he did it in front of a crowd that he found unbelievable.

As he continues to enjoy this milestone in his career, Duplantis acknowledges just how significant it is. He candidly admitted that if he doesn’t top this moment, he would be perfectly okay with that, saying, “I don’t think you really can get much better than what just happened.”
