Helena Celebrates Vigilante Day Parade Amid Weather Changes

Helena, Montana – Residents in Helena are gearing up for a joyful day today as the Vigilante Day Parade begins at noon, under sunny skies and warm temperatures. A ridge of high pressure is building over western North America, resulting in highs reaching the 70s and low 80s.
As parade-goers gather, temperatures will remain comfortable in the 60s to 70s. According to weather forecasts, Saturday could bring even warmer conditions, with several communities near or possibly breaking record highs for May 3rd, potentially hitting the low to mid-80s.
However, a change is on the horizon. Thunderstorms are forecasted to return on Sunday, with predictions of strong winds and hail from some of the storms expected in the afternoon. These storms will precede a cold front moving into the area.
On Monday morning, conditions will shift drastically, with rain transitioning to a rain-snow mix as snow levels drop to about 5,000 to 6,000 feet. Following this cool down, dry and warm weather is expected to return swiftly by Tuesday, continuing through most of the upcoming week.
Currently, no weather alerts are in effect for the area. Historical temperature records for Helena note a high of 86 degrees in 1947 and a low of 17 degrees in 1954.
Enjoy the festivities and have a great weekend!
