Motorcycle Police Chase Howell

HOWELL, Mich. — A Howell man is behind bars after leading police on a high-speed chase early Wednesday morning.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy spotted the motorcyclist speeding at 70 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone on Grand River near Hacker at approximately 2:30 a.m.

When the deputy attempted to pull the rider over, the motorcyclist fled westbound, reaching speeds of 100 mph. The pursuit took a turn when the suspect turned north on Latson Road, eventually entering the Glens at Rolling Ridge apartment complex.

Inside the complex, the rider left the road and tried to drive into a nearby subdivision. However, he lost control of the motorcycle before he could reach Snowden Lane.

Witnesses provided crucial information for identifying the suspect, who abandoned his motorcycle in a yard on Snowden Lane before fleeing on foot.

Deputies later arrested the 41-year-old Howell resident at his home on Audrey Rae Lane without incident. He was booked into the Livingston County Jail for fleeing and eluding, as well as a parole violation.

Officials revealed that the suspect had been released on parole from the Michigan Department of Corrections in November 2022.
