Highway 403 Burlington Waterdown Road Collision

A construction worker has sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision involving a Ministry of Transportation vehicle on Highway 403 in Burlington. The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes near Waterdown Road.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detailed that the collision took place at approximately 4 a.m. on October 11, 2024. According to the information given to 680News Radio by OPP, the worker was on a scissor truck when a vehicle entered the construction zone and collided with them.

The injured construction worker was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver involved in the accident sustained minor injuries and was also treated at the scene.

As a consequence of the accident, all eastbound lanes of Highway 403 have been closed near the site for further investigation. The OPP has not provided an estimated time for when the highway will be reopened, stating that the closure could last several hours.
