Hill Air Force Base Plans F-35A Flyover for Utah Hockey Club Opener
Hill Air Force Base has announced that it will conduct a flyover over the Delta Center in Salt Lake City to mark the home opening game of the Utah Hockey Club. The event is set to take place on Tuesday evening, featuring the advanced F-35A Lightning II fighter jets.
The jets will form part of a spectacle as they soar approximately 1,000 feet above the stadium, scheduled shortly after 6:30 p.m. Residents of Salt Lake City have been advised to anticipate the associated noise, according to official statements.
The operation will be undertaken by the 388th and 419th Fighter Wings based at Hill Air Force Base. “The F-35 is the nation’s most advanced fifth-generation multi-role fighter aircraft,” stated a press release, highlighting the significance of the flyover.
The 419th Fighter Wing, notably, is recognized as the first Air Force Reserve unit to operate the F-35A Lightning II aircraft, alongside the active duty 388th Fighter Wing. This bases these units at the forefront of aviation technology within the United States Air Force.
The Utah Hockey Club’s anticipated match against the Chicago Blackhawks will see the puck drop at approximately 8 p.m., an event expected to draw considerable local attention, further enhanced by the planned aerial display.
