Hollywood’s Feline Frenzy: From Swift to the Big Screen with ‘Argylle’
Director Matthew Vaughn‘s latest film ‘Argylle‘ is a nod to pop star Taylor Swift‘s love for cats, with a furry co-star named Alfie.
Vaughn drew inspiration from Swift’s documentary ‘Miss Americana,’ featuring her cat Olivia in a pet backpack, for a scene with Bryce Dallas Howard‘s character in ‘Argylle’.
Initially, the script had Howard’s character leaving Alfie behind, but Vaughn changed course, making the feline part of the film’s core adventure.
Vaughn admitted his initial concern about working with a cat due to their unpredictable nature.
A recent surge of cat content in Hollywood is partially attributed to Swift’s popularity and affinity for felines.
Swift is not only a cat mom to Meredith and Benjamin but also posed with Benjamin on the cover of Time magazine.
Although many speculated about Swift’s connection to the ‘Argylle’ story, Vaughn clarified that it wasn’t the case.
Howard, on the other hand, did confirm that she channeled Swift’s cat-loving personality while embodying her character Elly Conway.
‘Argylle’ highlights the quirky charm of cat companions, likely enhancing their appeal in mainstream media.
