Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premiere Doug Ford are set to join executives from Honda partner Asahi Kasei in Port Colborne today to unveil a groundbreaking $1.6-billion electric vehicle supply chain plant, according to sources familiar with the deal as reported by the Globe and Mail.

The announcement is a significant component of Honda’s extensive $15-billion investment in Ontario‘s electric vehicle supply chain.

As per the CBC, this upcoming facility will mark the establishment of Canada’s inaugural lithium-ion battery separator plant.
