Police authorities have arrested Robert Crawford, the husband of the late psychologist Frances Crawford, in connection with her alleged murder. The arrest follows her death in July in what was initially reported as a ride-on lawnmower incident. Emergency services discovered Frances’s body at their property in the Lockyer Valley, positioned near a retaining wall with the lawnmower found nearby, prompting initial speculation of an accidental rollover.

The arrest of Robert Crawford, a 47-year-old Royal Australian Air Force squadron leader, was made early Thursday morning. According to statements from the police, the investigation remains active, with no charges filed at the current moment. Last week, law enforcement had announced that they were investigating Frances’s death as a potential murder case, leading to several individuals coming forward with critical information.

The family of Frances Crawford has expressed relief and gratitude towards the progress in the case. “The family is relieved and pleased with this progress being made in the case,” a spokesperson informed the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). “The police have done a wonderful job in supporting the family through this time and in the case.”

Last week, Detective Superintendent George Marchesini stated that forensic analysis was ongoing and was deemed a “crucial” part of the investigation into how Frances’s body came to be located at the bottom of the retaining wall. Additionally, he expressed confidence that essential information about Frances’s death could be forthcoming from witnesses.

Frances Crawford worked as a psychologist in Toowoomba and had three adult children, all of whom had already moved out of the family residence. The investigation continues as detectives gather more evidence and witness testimonies.
