Hydro Manitoba Works To Restore Power After Pole Fire In Saint James Neighborhood

Over 4000 customers in the Saint-James neighborhood of Winnipeg and surrounding areas were left without power on Sunday afternoon as Hydro-Manitoba dealt with a pole fire in Oakdale.

Hydro-Manitoba issued a statement on social media around 3:30 p.m., alerting residents of Kirkfield and Crestview to a brief emergency outage while their teams worked to isolate the damaged pole.

The provincial utility noted that it would take several hours to fully restore power to all customers, with estimates ranging between 7 and 8 p.m.

A map displaying current outages is accessible on the Hydro-Manitoba website.
