India’s Armed Forces Document Anti-Terror Strikes Amid Growing Tensions

NEW DELHI, India — The Indian Armed Forces are documenting every anti-terror strike for transparency, government sources confirmed on May 9, 2025. This comes as India faces escalating military tensions with Pakistan following recent missile and drone attacks between the neighboring countries.
On May 8, Pakistan initiated a series of missile and drone attacks that targeted several regions across India, including Jammu, Rajasthan, and Punjab. India’s defense forces successfully intercepted the majority of these threats, preventing significant damage. This escalation marked a response to India’s recent precision strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan in retaliation for an earlier attack that claimed 26 lives.
The situation intensified after India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ on the night of May 8, with airstrikes aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure across Pakistan. The operation involved advanced aircraft, including Rafale jets, and resulted in reported casualties on both sides.
Pakistani officials claimed that multiple missiles were fired into Indian territory, and during retaliation, five Indian aircraft were shot down. These conflicting reports highlight the growing military confrontation.
In light of increased military efforts, the Indian government has implemented strict measures within its territory. In Punjab’s Mohali, theaters and shopping malls are ordered to remain closed from sunset to sunrise, while the Gujarat Police enforced a ban on firecrackers until May 15.
The Indian Armed Forces are committed to documenting their operations thoroughly, with a special unit focused on collecting visual evidence of each strike to ensure accountability. This effort is aimed at providing verifiable information amid accusations and misinformation spreading from the conflict.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and other top officials are actively seeking international support to counter terrorism, noting that zero tolerance is essential in combating such threats. Importantly, both countries are on high alert as military operations continue, with warnings issued to civilians in sensitive areas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized a resolute approach to protecting Indian territory, stating that any act of aggression will be met with appropriate responses. As the situation unfolds, the Indian government maintains its stance on preventing any escalation unless provoked by Pakistan.
