Inland Freeze Warning Issued as Weekend Warm-Up Approaches

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The First Alert Weather Team has issued an inland freeze warning that will take effect overnight as temperatures plummet, setting the stage for a slight warm-up this weekend.
On Friday afternoon, skies were clear but the chill remained, with temperatures lingering in the upper 40s to low 50s. Residents preparing for the night can expect frigid conditions, especially inland, where temperatures are forecasted to drop to between 30 and 35 degrees, potentially leading to frost in areas west of I-95. Coastal areas will remain milder, with temperatures in the 40s.
Saturday is expected to bring a welcome reprieve, with daytime highs reaching the 60s and climbing to around 70 degrees on Sunday. This brief warm spell may be accompanied by a few clouds.
Looking ahead, a weak weather system is projected to bring brief showers on Monday. However, the region will continue to warm throughout the week, with highs expected in the 70s from Tuesday through Thursday.
“It’s important for residents to prepare for the cold temperatures and take precautions against frost, especially for sensitive plants,” said a meteorologist from the First Alert Weather Team.
