Jacob Fatu Gains Popularity Despite Heel Role in WWE

NEW YORK, NY — Jacob Fatu, known as the “Samoan Werewolf,” is gaining traction with WWE fans, despite his current role as a heel. WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi recently discussed Fatu’s appeal during an episode of the “Off The Top” podcast.
Rikishi explained that Fatu’s change in fan perception is unexpected but organic. Originally brought into WWE as part of the “New Bloodline” storyline, Fatu was aimed to be a top mercenary. Yet, fans have begun cheering for him.
“The WWE Universe, their voices are loud, you know what I mean? So, I mean, they’re already gravitating to Jacob as a babyface, and Jacob didn’t ask to be a babyface,” Rikishi said. Despite trying to perform heel actions, Fatu’s charisma has drawn fans to him.
Rikishi also shared thoughts on his son Solo Sikoa, who is exploring a more comedic side of his character. He expressed his joy in seeing Solo enjoy his wrestling career: “It’s good to see that you’re finding yourself and you’re out there. He said, ‘I’m out there doing it, you know, having fun, Dad.’ And that’s what it’s all about, right?”
Both Fatu and Sikoa are seen as key figures in the future of WWE, potentially leading the next generation of wrestling stars.
