Jake Gyllenhaal Stars In Remake Of 'road House' Set To Stream On Prime Video

Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for its remake of the 1989 action classic ‘Road House,’ which will be available to stream globally on Prime Video on March 21.

The feature stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Elwood Dalton, a former UFC fighter struggling to make ends meet. After the owner of a Florida Keys roadhouse finds him sleeping in his car, Dalton becomes a bouncer and finds himself roped into a war of outlaws and bikers, including the actual mixed martial artist Conor McGregor in his first-ever movie role, and a developer intent on building a lavish resort. Jessica Williams, known for her role in ‘Shrinking,’ plays the roadhouse owner.

Joining the cast are Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B.K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp, and Bob Menery.

‘Road House’ is directed by Douglas Liman and written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry. Joel Silver, who produced the original 1989 film, returns as a producer for his company Silver Pictures, along with JJ Hook, Alison Winter, and Aaron Auch.

The original film, starring Patrick Swayze, was a cult classic and stands as one of his most beloved roles. The remake aims to put a new spin on the beloved legacy, and Gyllenhaal and Liman are excited to show audiences what they have done with this iconic role.

Mark your calendars for March 21 when ‘Road House’ hits Prime Video and indulge in this high-octane, adrenaline-filled reimagining.
