Jared Leto Shares Insights on Working with Jeff Bridges in ‘Tron: Ares’
In a recent interview, Jared Leto opened up about his experience working alongside Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges during the filming of the upcoming sci-fi film ‘Tron: Ares‘. Leto, who plays a character named Ares in the film, expressed his admiration for Bridges, stating that he found it difficult to maintain composure due to the joy of working with him.
During his appearance on the ‘Smartless‘ podcast, hosted by Will Arnett, Sean Hayes, and Jason Bateman, Leto recounted a particular incident where he had to call for a cut because he ‘couldn’t stop smiling’. The actor highlighted Bridges’ significance in his experience, remarking, ‘He’s everything. You know, it’s a money back guarantee: That motherf–ker gives you everything you ever wanted.’
‘Tron: Ares’ recently revealed its first extended trailer at Disney’s D23 fan event, where both Leto and Bridges, along with co-stars Greta Lee and Evan Peters, were present. Leto described his character, Ares, as ‘the master of the Grid — a program who’s looking for a way to make the world his own, permanently.’
When asked by co-host Hayes about the plot, Leto indicated that the film involves a scenario where technology from the ‘Tron’ world is transferred into the real world, drawing a parallel to elements seen in the ‘Terminator‘ series. Leto affirmed that ‘In a way, yeah, it does’ pick up where the previous film, ‘Tron: Legacy‘, left off.
Additionally, Leto expressed his excitement for being involved in significant film franchises like ‘Tron’ and ‘Blade Runner‘, which he noted had a profound impact on him during his childhood. He humorously remarked that he feels like he is ‘living in my simulation over here’.
‘Tron: Ares’ is scheduled for release in theaters on October 10, 2025.
