LOS ANGELES, March 26, 2025 — Jason Statham leads a gripping action narrative in his new film, ‘A Working Man,’ directed by David Ayer, set to premiere on March 28, 2025. The adaptation of Chuck Dixon‘s novel ‘Levon’s Trade’ showcases Statham as Levon Cade, a former Royal Marines commando turned Chicago construction worker, who embarks on a perilous mission to rescue a kidnapped girl.

Statham’s character, a widower grappling with tough personal circumstances, steps into the role of vigilante when Joe Garcia’s daughter, Jenny, is abducted by human traffickers linked to a high-ranking Russian mobster, Didi Kolisnik. Driven by a deep bond with the Garcia family, Levon must leverage his military skills to confront the criminals and reclaim Jenny.

The film transitions from the lighter tone of Statham’s previous work in ‘The Beekeeper‘ to a more intense, gritty narrative, making for a thrilling viewing experience. Statham’s performance as a brooding badass fighting against the odds is complemented by capable performances from Emmett J. Scanlan and Eve Mauro, who portray the film’s antagonists.

The film’s tone shifts notably as the Russian mob sends increasingly caricatured henchmen after Levon, which some viewers may find jarring. While this provides moments of levity, it clashes with the otherwise serious undercurrent of the plot. This tonal dissonance raises questions about the film’s balance between humor and tension.

A Working Man finds a competitive space among action films, particularly for audiences who appreciate Statham’s signature style. Although it may lack the distinctive identity of some of his admired films, it succeeds in delivering a collection of well-executed action scenes, concluding with a climactic and explosive finale. As Statham takes on his adversaries with trademark ease, fans of his work are likely to find satisfaction in his latest outing.

As the film gears up for release, pop culture expert Shak summarizes its appeal, stating, “A Working Man isn’t a game-changer, but it’s another rock-solid, no-frills Jason Statham action flick.” With a review score of 7 out of 10, the film is anticipated to resonate well with action enthusiasts and die-hard Statham fans alike.
