Jelly Roll Reveals Dramatic 200-Pound Weight Loss at Pittsburgh Event

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Country musician Jelly Roll showcased a remarkable transformation, revealing that he has lost 200 pounds during the Pat McAfee ‘Big Night Aht’ event on Wednesday. The 40-year-old star, born Jason Bradley DeFord, disclosed that he has dropped from 540 pounds to 357 pounds and expressed his ambition to lose an additional 100 pounds.
In a candid interview, Jelly Roll shared his plans, stating, ‘I’m gonna lose another 100lbs and go skydiving with my wife in Sweden, baby!’ He has been open about his weight loss journey, alongside his wife Bunnie XO, who has also discussed her struggles with weight management publicly.
Last October, Jelly Roll surpassed his initial goal of losing 100 pounds while preparing for a 5K race. Bunnie has spoken about her experience with the weight-loss medication tirzepatide, which she referred to as ‘micro-dosing,’ admitting that she still felt extremely hungry despite the treatment.
During her podcast, Bunnie candidly expressed, ‘I s**t my brains out,’ detailing some of the side effects she has encountered. Tirzepatide is an anti-diabetic medication that is also used off-label for weight loss.
On her podcast, Jelly Roll revealed a personal goal: ‘I wanna be on the cover of Men's Health magazine by March of 2026. That’s my new goal.’ He emphasized the importance of sharing his weight loss journey in public, stating, ‘I wanted to lose it in front of everybody. I wanted to talk about it.’
The hitmaker has adopted various physical activities to help with his weight loss, including boxing, basketball, and daily walks. ‘I’ve been really kicking a** in my mission to lose weight,’ he noted. ‘I’m probably down 70-something pounds. I’m doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week. I’m doing 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day. I’m eating healthy right now,’ he told People.
Jelly Roll’s chef, Ian Larios, shared details on his dietary changes, noting that the musician’s pre-show snack is a banana topped with Manuka honey, stevia, and dark chocolate shavings. For a post-performance meal, Jelly Roll enjoys a healthier take on Nashville hot chicken, which Larios prepares by air frying and modifying the ingredients to enhance its nutritional value while keeping it appetizing.
Larios praised Jelly Roll’s weight loss achievements, calling the 100-pound milestone from his last tour significant. ‘It’s healthy. It’s air-fried. It’s full of protein, and it helps him stay on track,’ Larios explained. ‘It tricks your brain into thinking that this is, like, that nice greasy Nashville deep-fried hot chicken.’
