Jennifer Affleck Expecting Baby No. 3 Amid Reality Show Challenges
LOS ANGELES, CA — Jennifer Affleck is pregnant with her third child, she announced exclusively to PEOPLE on February 11, 2025. The star of Hulu‘s reality series ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives‘ expressed her excitement over the unexpected news, stating that both she and her husband Zac Affleck had a feeling another baby was on the way.
“I was a few days late, and while it was a surprise, we both had a feeling there was another baby waiting for us,” she said. The couple, already parents of two children, son Lucas, 19 months, and daughter Nora, 3, revealed that their little ones were “beyond excited” to welcome the new sibling. “Nora has been hoping for a little sister, and I can tell she really wants it to be a girl!” Jennifer added.
While the couple hasn’t determined the sex of their forthcoming child, Jennifer shared her intuition. “I have a strong feeling it’s a girl. I’ve dreamed about this little girl for a while now, and I truly believe she’s the one I’m carrying,” she expressed.
The past year has been challenging for Jennifer, especially after the first season of their reality show premiered last September. “The first trimester was really challenging mentally and physically; I experienced all the symptoms—nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and mood swings. It’s definitely been chaotic, no doubt about it,” she revealed.
Despite the pressures of filming and the stress of an expanding family, Jennifer acknowledges the support she has received. “I couldn’t have navigated this chapter of life without the support of my family, my therapist and God!” she said.
Looking ahead, Jennifer is preparing for an unmedicated and natural birth, a decision that reflects her desire to demonstrate her inner strength. “I never thought I would take this path, but I want to prove to myself how strong I am and what my body is capable of,” she confirmed.
As the family gears up for the arrival of their third child, Jennifer is determined to manage the challenges ahead while emphasizing the importance of mental health. “There’s so much more to our story than people realize,” she said, referring to the scrutiny they faced during Season 1.
Jennifer’s sister is also expecting a child after years of trying with IVF, adding to the family’s excitement. “Both of our parents were absolutely thrilled to hear the news. They love being grandparents, so this was the perfect surprise for them,” she said.
As they prepare for the second season of ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,’ set to premiere in May 2025, Jennifer aims to strike a balance between family life and her career. “It can be daunting to think about raising three babies while pursuing my career, but I want to show women and mothers that they can achieve anything they set their minds to, no matter how unrealistic it may seem,” she concluded.
