Jimmy Rollins Golf Tournament Hole In One

South Lake Tahoe, California — Former Philadelphia Phillies star and current TBS analyst Jimmy Rollins sold his $325,000 speedboat after winning it in a golf tournament this July. The boat was a prize for hitting a hole-in-one at the American Century Championship held at Edgewood Tahoe.

Initially, Rollins planned to keep the boat, but he changed his mind after realizing he was not a boat person in California. He ultimately sold the MasterCraft speedboat to Mike McCready, the guitarist of Pearl Jam. ‘I sold it to him with no hours and no water on it,’ Rollins told The Inquirer. ‘But I’m sure that has changed already.’

The connection between Rollins and McCready was facilitated by Pearl Jam’s lead singer, Eddie Vedder, who is a wakeboarding enthusiast. Vedder helped McCready find a boat, and MasterCraft informed them about Rollins’ sale.

Rollins, who previously owned a boat while living in South Tampa, found it challenging to maintain one in California. ‘From my back door to my boat is one thing,’ he said. ‘But to drive an hour just to be on the water for an hour—that’s a wakeboard boat. It’s meant for lakes and wakeboarding, not for open water.’

This sale highlights Rollins’ transition from being a boat owner to focusing on other interests as he adapts to life on the West Coast.
