On August 15, three films were released simultaneously in cinemas: ‘Stree 2‘, ‘Khel Khel Mein’, and ‘Vedaa‘. While ‘Vedaa’, starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh, underperformed at the box office, it attracted attention for its compelling narrative and action sequences. As it transitions to digital streaming, ‘Vedaa’ aims to captivate a broader audience.

The film, directed by Nikkhil Advani, explores themes of caste discrimination and social stereotypes. The plot centers on an ex-Army officer named Abhimanyu, portrayed by John Abraham, who collaborates with Sharvari’s character to challenge systemic oppression. The film’s action sequences have been noted for their intensity, enhancing the film’s appeal to thrill-seekers.

As reported by Dainik Jagran, ‘Vedaa’ is set to stream on ZEE5, with the digital rights secured by the platform prior to its cinematic release. The online premiere is anticipated around October 11 or 12, coinciding with the Dussehra festival. This strategic timing could bolster online viewership as families come together for the celebrations.

In a significant digital clash, Akshay Kumar‘s film ‘Sarfira‘ will also debut on October 11 via Disney Plus Hotstar. This simultaneous release illustrates the increasing importance of digital platforms in the film industry.

Despite its lackluster box office performance, with a net collection of Rs 21.47 crore in India, ‘Vedaa’ received critical acclaim for its story and action. John Abraham, who previously enjoyed success with ‘Pathaan‘, failed to replicate the same level of box office impact with ‘Vedaa’.

Additionally, the film features performances by Tamannaah Bhatia, Abhishek Banerjee, Mahadev Singh Lakhawat, Kapil Nirmal, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Kumud Mishra. The competition faced at the box office with blockbuster ‘Stree 2’, released on the same day, may have contributed to ‘Vedaa’s’ lower financial returns despite positive reviews.
