Jacksonville Transportation Authority Contract Signing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 21, 2025) – Tracie L. Williams, a dedicated dispatch supervisor for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), is set to retire soon but will leave with more than just fond memories. This month, members of Local 3613 ratified a new contract that promises substantial pay raises and strong job security provisions.

The four-year agreement secured a 6.5% raise in the first year and increased the starting wage by $4. Workers will now earn a top pay rate of $34.10 an hour. “We came from $17 an hour only three years ago. You walk in the door now and start at $30 an hour,” said Michael Scott, vice president of Local 3613.

Every year, members can expect raises between 3.5% and 6%, plus performance and safety incentives that can add up to an additional 1%. The new contract improves grievance procedures and ensures advance notice of disciplinary meetings for union representation, which Scott described as critical wins for workers.

In the lead-up to negotiations, Scott and Local 3613 President Cindy Hurst gathered proposals from members to be ready on day one. The negotiations concluded in less than three days due to the strong solidarity and clear objectives presented by the union.

“This contract gives members the dignity and respect they deserve,” Scott said, highlighting the improvements in pay equity and workplace dignity. JTA workers are celebrating this achievement as a significant step forward in their ongoing struggle for fair treatment.
