Junior Bridgeman Hospitalized After Medical Emergency at Fundraiser

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Junior Bridgeman, a prominent local businessman and former University of Louisville basketball star, experienced a medical emergency on Tuesday during a fundraising event.
The incident took place at the Galt House, where Bridgeman was participating in the 45th Annual Leadership Luncheon on Scouting, benefiting the Lincoln Heritage Council, Scouting America. Bridgeman, 71, was being interviewed by WLKY‘s Kent Taylor when he indicated he believed he was suffering a heart attack.
Immediately recognizing the seriousness of the situation, attendees sprang into action while emergency medical services were summoned. Bridgeman was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

Bridgeman is well-known in the Louisville community not only for his basketball career but also for his significant contributions to local business. He had a distinguished career in the NBA, primarily with the Milwaukee Bucks, and he acquired a stake in the team last year.
Before making a name for himself professionally, Bridgeman played for the University of Louisville men’s basketball team, where he earned All-American honors as a guard. In addition to his business ventures, he is also a co-owner of the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville and has served on various city boards, further solidifying his impact on the local community.
