Justin Timberlake Returns to Saturday Night Live with Debut Performances
Justin Timberlake delighted fans with a highly anticipated return to Saturday Night Live on Jan. 27, where he showcased his musical talents as the show’s musical guest. This was Timberlake’s fifth time appearing on SNL as a solo artist.
The evening started with a surprise cameo during host Dakota Johnson‘s opening monologue, as Timberlake mistakenly thought he was the host himself. The two actors, who appeared together in the movie ‘The Social Network‘, shared a fun and friendly exchange.
Timberlake took the stage to perform two brand new songs from his upcoming album. The first track, titled ‘Sanctified’, featured Houston rapper . The energetic performance included a full band and backup dancers, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
For his second song, Timberlake performed his recently released single ‘Selfish’. The smooth R&B song showcases Timberlake’s soulful vocals as he sings about jealousy and desire. The song will be included in his upcoming album, ‘Everything I Thought It Was‘ set to be released on March 15.
Timberlake’s previous album, ‘Man of the Woods’, reached the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart in 2018.
Aside from his musical performances, Timberlake also made a hilarious appearance with Jimmy Fallon in a recurring sketch called ‘The Barry Gibb Talk Show’. This marked Timberlake’s return to Studio 8H at 30 Rock, where SNL is filmed.
Timberlake has a long history with SNL, having joined their exclusive Five-Timers Club in March 2013. He has also been recognized with four Emmy awards for his outstanding original music and lyrics on the show, including the popular ‘Di– in a Box’ music video with Lonely Island.
Viewers without cable can stream SNL episodes on the NBC streaming service Peacock, which also provides access to previous episodes of the show.
