Juvenile Killed, Three Injured in Placer County Crash

COLFAX, Calif. — A juvenile was killed and three others suffered serious injuries in a crash Thursday afternoon on Interstate 80 in Placer County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 12:10 p.m. on the westbound side of the highway, near Colfax. Officials reported that only one vehicle was involved in the incident. While the exact cause of the crash is unclear, investigators are looking into whether speed and weather conditions were contributing factors.
A photograph from the scene shows a black vehicle on the shoulder of the highway, suggesting it may have gone off the road before the crash. Initial reports indicated that all westbound lanes of the highway were shut down following the incident, but CHP later announced that one lane had reopened, allowing traffic to pass.
The identities of the victims, including the ages and genders, have not been disclosed yet. Authorities are continuing their investigation to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more details become available.
