The highly-anticipated film, Kalki 2898 AD, experienced a notable decline in its box office earnings on the second day after a remarkable opening. Starring the charismatic actor Prabhas, the movie initially garnered attention by surpassing the global debut numbers of KGF 2, putting it in third place behind blockbusters RRR and Baahubali 2.

On its opening day, Kalki 2898 AD made a remarkable Rs 191.5 crore globally, setting high expectations for its future performance. However, on the following day, the film encountered a substantial 43% decrease in overall revenue, raking in Rs 54 crore in collections in India alone.

The varied language releases of Kalki 2898 AD saw differing trends in box office numbers. While the Telugu version experienced the sharpest drop from Rs 65.8 crore to Rs 25.65 crore on day two, the Hindi version remained steady at Rs 22.5 crore each day. The film also ventured into Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam markets, displaying a mix of declines and modest increases in collections across these regions.

Featuring a star-studded cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, along with cameos from industry stalwarts SS Rajamouli, Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Vijay Deverakonda, Kalki 2898 AD marks a significant entry in the realm of Indian cinema.
