Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi Movie Stills

Fans of Kannada cinema have a reason to celebrate as “Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi,” a hit film starring the popular actor Ganesh, is set to debut on the OTT platform Amazon Prime. The film’s OTT release is scheduled for October 11, 2024, marking a significant event for viewers who have eagerly awaited its online streaming availability.

“Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi” is directed by Srinivas Raju, known for his previous work on crime dramas like “Dandupalya.” However, this film marked Raju’s foray into romance and comedy genres. The movie, released in theaters on August 15, 2024, received positive responses from audiences and successfully ran in cinemas for over 50 days.

The film features a notable ensemble cast including Malavika Nair and Sharanya Shetty, alongside Ganesh. Supporting roles are played by Rangayana Raghu, Shashikumar, Sadhu Kokila, and Avinash. The movie was produced by Prashanth G. Rudrappa and came into the limelight due to its widely acclaimed soundtrack, which garnered millions of views online.

Prior to its theatrical release, “Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi” captured public attention without a trailer, relying instead on the popularity of its songs to draw in an audience. Its unique promotion strategy proved effective, contributing to it being labeled as a box office success, reportedly earning over 25 crore.

The decision to release the film on Amazon Prime is anticipated to expand its viewership, allowing a broader audience to enjoy the romantic comedy. The announcement of its OTT availability is especially significant as it coincides with the festive season, offering a fresh Kannada film option for home viewers during Dasara.

This development follows the recent OTT release of another leading Kannada film, “Bhima,” which premiered a month ago. The gradual shift of successful Kannada films to streaming platforms highlights a growing trend in the industry’s distribution strategies.
