Kashish Chaudhary Assistant Commissioner Balochistan

Quetta, Balochistan — Kashish Chaudhary, a 25-year-old woman from Noshki, has made history as the first female Hindu Assistant Commissioner in Balochistan. She earned the role after passing the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam. The appointment highlights the increasing representation of minorities in Pakistan’s government.

Kashish was celebrated across social media as an inspiration to many young women and members of minority communities. After her appointment, she met with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti on Monday, accompanied by her father, Girdhari Lal. During the meeting, she shared her commitment to empowering women and supporting minority rights in the province.

“It is a matter of great pride for me that my daughter has become an Assistant Commissioner through hard work and dedication,” Girdhari Lal said. He emphasized that Kashish has always dreamt of contributing to society and improving the lives of women.

Kashish attributed her success to three years of intense preparation, studying at least eight hours daily. “Discipline, hard work, and a desire to contribute to society have driven me throughout this journey,” she noted in an interview.

Her achievement comes as part of a broader trend among Hindu women in Pakistan who have broken barriers in male-dominated fields. In July 2022, Manesh Ropeta became the first Hindu woman Superintendent of Police in Karachi. Similarly, Pushpa Kumari Kohli and Suman Pawan Bodani serve as sub-inspectors and civil judges, respectively, in Sindh province.

Bugti praised Kashish, calling her a “symbol of pride for the nation and Balochistan.” He acknowledged the positive role of minority communities stepping into significant governmental positions through dedication.

The appointment of Kashish serves as an encouragement for more young women, particularly from minority backgrounds, to pursue their aspirations and take on leadership roles in society.
