Kate Beckinsale Tattoo Tribute Mother

LOS ANGELES, California – Kate Beckinsale is honoring her late mother, actress Judy Loe, with a new tattoo. On November 21, Beckinsale shared a full-length sketch of her mother on Instagram. Above the artwork, she included the words “Fatherless scum” along with an illustration of a fox named Peepo, whom she had been feeding in her backyard.

“If everyone would stop dying, I wouldn’t have so many tattoos,” the actress wrote in her post. The tattoo was done by a Hollywood-based artist, Dr. Woo, and the design was inspired by a photograph of Loe from her youth.

The slideshow Beckinsale shared features various angles of the tattoo, in both black and white and color. The final image in the series is a vintage candid of her mother, taken from the British children’s fantasy TV series “Ace of Wands,” which aired in the 1970s. In the photo, Loe wears a slim long-sleeve top, hot shorts, and knee-high white boots, alongside an owl named Fred.

Beckinsale’s mother died at the age of 78 on July 15 after a prolonged battle with stage four cancer. Beckinsale had previously opened up about her mother’s suffering, stating, “She died the night of July 15th in my arms after immeasurable suffering.”

Reflecting on their close bond, Beckinsale described her mother as “the compass of my life, the love of my life, my dearest friend.” She expressed the profound pain of losing her, calling it “nearly impossible to bear.”

Throughout her social media posts, Beckinsale has shared memories and reflections about her mother, including moments during the film production of “Wildcat” when she juggled her role as a caregiver while working. “Not only the best cast and crew but also the last movie set my mum was able to visit me on,” she wrote, thanking them for their kindness.

As Beckinsale continues to share her journey of grief and remembrance, her heartfelt tributes resonate with many fans who admire her strength and vulnerability.
