Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau Spark Dating Rumors After Yacht Photos Surface

Santa Barbara, California — Speculation about a romantic relationship between singer Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has intensified following recent photos of the two together on a yacht. The images, taken over the weekend, show the pair embracing and kissing, providing a strong hint about their potential relationship.

Neither Perry, 40, nor Trudeau, 53, has officially confirmed the rumors. Their representatives declined to comment when approached by various media outlets. However, during her concert in London on Monday night, Perry hinted at her relationship status, mentioning to fans that she typically falls for Englishmen but that’s no longer the case.

During the concert, a fan jokingly proposed to Perry, which led her to respond that she wished he had asked her 48 hours earlier, just before the yacht photos were released. When the fan suggested he heard she was single, Perry quipped, “You heard I was single? That’s interesting.”

Sophie Grégoire, Trudeau’s ex-wife, shared feelings about moving on in a social media post on Monday. While not directly naming Trudeau, she stated she is “letting go” of the past, underlining that “nothing we love is meant to be kept forever.”

Reports indicate that Trudeau began pursuing Perry after they were first seen together in Montreal back in July. A source close to Perry mentioned they share an “easy connection,” and Trudeau even flew to California to visit her while she took a break from touring.

Their initial sighting in July included a stroll with a dog in Mount Royal Park, followed by dinner at Le Violon. Although they were reportedly not affectionate in public, Trudeau attended Perry’s concert in Montreal soon after, where he was seen singing along with her.

Perry’s dating history includes a recent split from British actor Orlando Bloom, as confirmed earlier this year. The couple ended their nine-year relationship but stated they would co-parent their daughter. Perry was married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012. Trudeau was married to Grégoire from 2005 until their separation in August 2023, after which they also committed to co-parenting their three children.

In January 2025, Trudeau announced his resignation as Prime Minister, citing internal challenges as he faced dissent within his party. He officially left office in March after nearly a decade of service.
