Kendrick Lamar Watch The Party Die Song Release

Kendrick Lamar has made a significant return to the music scene with the unexpected release of a new song titled ‘Watch the Party Die.’ The five-minute track was shared on his Instagram page, marking his first new music since the release of ‘Not Like Us’ earlier this year. In ‘Watch the Party Die,’ Lamar delves into various themes, including references to Christian rapper Lecrae and musician Terrace Martin. He also appears to address DJ Akademiks, criticizing the radio personality for spreading propaganda for financial gain.

The song includes lyrics that suggest the ongoing feud with Drake may not be entirely resolved. Lamar raps, ‘Just walked that man down, that’ll do everyone a solid / It’s love but tough love, sometimes you gotta result in violence.’ This release follows the massive success of ‘Not Like Us,’ which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in May and topped several other charts, including the Hot Rap Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and Streaming Songs charts.

This new music comes as Lamar has been announced as the performer for the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime show. This will be his second appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show, after his featured performance during Dr. Dre‘s 2022 show alongside Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent. Lamar expressed his enthusiasm for the gig, stating, ‘Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,’ and ‘I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.’
