Kentucky Election Results 2024: Live Updates and Key Races
Kentucky‘s 2024 election results are unfolding with a strong Republican lean, consistent with the state’s historical voting patterns. In the presidential race, Republican candidate Donald Trump is expected to secure the state’s eight electoral votes, given his significant margin in previous elections. In 2020, Trump won Kentucky by about 26% over Democratic candidate Joe Biden, and a similar outcome is anticipated this year.
The U.S. House races in Kentucky also favor the Republicans, with all six incumbents—five Republicans and one Democrat—expected to be reelected. Notably, Hal Rogers (KY-05), the longest-serving current member, is unopposed for his 23rd term, and Thomas Massie (R, KY-04) is also running unopposed.
In state legislative races, the Republicans are likely to maintain their majority in both the State Senate and State House. While specific results for these races are still being tallied, the GOP’s strong hold on the state legislature is expected to continue.
Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who stepped in after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race, is focusing her campaign on issues such as enhancing the caregiving economy, safeguarding abortion rights, and defending democratic values. However, given Kentucky’s conservative lean, her campaign faces significant challenges in the state.
