KeyBank Appoints Ronald Klein as Central New York Retail Leader

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — KeyBank (NYSE: KEY) has appointed Ronald Klein, Jr. as its new retail leader for the Central New York market. Based in Syracuse, Klein will oversee sales, service, and talent development across all KeyBank branches in the region, the bank announced Tuesday.

Klein, who joined KeyBank in 2018, will also collaborate with the banku2019s line of business leaders to drive business development and growth. This newly created position reflects KeyBanku2019s focus on expanding its presence in Central New York, a spokesperson confirmed in an email to CNYBJ.

Stephen Fournier, president of KeyBanku2019s Central New York market and regional retail leader, will oversee Kleinu2019s role. Klein brings 34 years of banking experience, including 14 years in retail and 20 years in consumer lending and mortgage. Since joining KeyBank, he has mentored multiple area retail leaders and facilitated the promotion of nine branch managers to various business lines.

Before his tenure at KeyBank, Klein held leadership positions at HSBC, First Niagara Bank, Citi, Berkshire Bank, and Citizens Bank. He is also actively involved with Syracuse Universityu2019s Martin J. Whitman School of Management, where he mentors students and student-athletes.

KeyBank, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, operates numerous branches across Central and Upstate New York. The bank holds the No. 2 position in deposit market share across the 16-county Central New York area.
