Kyle Richards Supports Justin Sylvester as He Faces Career Milestone

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Kyle Richards, the renowned star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” recently provided crucial advice to her longtime friend Justin Sylvester as he approached a significant moment in his broadcasting career. Sylvester, who has been a familiar face on E! News and other entertainment shows, reflected on his experiences and the support he received from Richards during an interview in February 2025.
Justin Sylvester has built a successful career in television since he began working as an assistant to Richards in 2010, shortly after her reality show premiered. Over the years, Sylvester has co-hosted several prominent E! programs, including “Nightly Pop” and “E! Live from the Red Carpet.” Most recently, he guest hosted a week of “Jenna & Friends” alongside Jenna Bush Hager on NBC’s TODAY.
Reflecting on the support from Richards, Sylvester stated, “Kyle Richards is always my rock, and her just reminding me to be myself and reminding me that I got this was huge.” This support has been a constant throughout their enduring friendship.
Their friendship took root when Sylvester started working for Richards, and it grew stronger as they navigated personal and professional challenges together. In a previous appearance on “Daily Pop,” Sylvester described how Richards helped him gain the confidence to come out to his family. He recounted a pivotal moment from Season 2 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” when Richards invited him to a ‘Gays and Gals’ party.
“She sat me down and said, ‘I really want you to come with me, but I know you’re not out to your family. And if you do this, the schtick is up,'” Sylvester shared. Richards assured him, “If you do decide to do this, I will be with you every step of the way.” This encouragement led Sylvester to ultimately come out to his mother.
“It was the hardest call of my life, but the greatest call of my life,” he stated. “That moment changed my life forever because, for the longest time, I was hiding my real dream. I knew I could never be in front of the camera because of the shame I would bring all my family.” This significant experience not only marked a turning point for Sylvester but also deepened the bond between him and Richards.
Theirs is a friendship characterized by unwavering support, often referred to as being ‘ride or die.’ In January 2024, Sylvester celebrated their connection by posting a heartfelt photo on Instagram, captioning it, “‘Til the wheels fall off.” As both continue their journeys in the entertainment industry, their friendship remains a testament to the support and guidance they provide each other.
