Lady Gaga Announces New Album ‘Mayhem’ and Reflects on Future Family Plans
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Pop icon Lady Gaga announced her seventh studio album, “Mayhem,” set for release on March 7, 2025, marking a return to her pop roots. The 14-track album includes the previously released single “Disease” and her No. 1 hit with Bruno Mars, ” .” A third single is slated to debut during a commercial break on CBS and Paramount+.
“The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” Gaga said in a statement. She described the creative process as “reassembling a shattered mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”
“Mayhem” follows Gaga’s jazz/big band album, which complemented her role in the ” ” film, where she co-starred as Harley Quinn. This upcoming release is her first true pop album since 2020’s “Chromatica,” which featured hits like “Stupid Love” and “Rain on Me” with Ariana Grande.
In addition to her music, Gaga is set to perform at a benefit concert in Los Angeles for communities affected by recent wildfires. The event, featuring artists like Joni Mitchell, Olivia Rodrigo, and others, will take place simultaneously at the Intuit Dome and Kia Forum, with broadcasts on platforms including Apple Music, SiriusXM, YouTube, iHeartRadio, and Veeps.
Gaga also opened up about her personal life, hinting at motherhood in the “not-too-distant future.” In a recent interview, she shared her thoughts on raising children with fiancé Michael Polansky. “That’s something Michael and I have talked about a lot — allowing our kids to be their own people,” she said. “I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are.”
The 13-time Grammy winner emphasized her desire for her future children to form their own opinions about her work. “I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them,” she explained. “Maybe other than that I just did my best. And tried to stay true to myself along the way.”
Gaga and Polansky, who first went public with their relationship in February 2020, became engaged in July 2024 during the Paris Olympics. While they have not yet announced a wedding date, Gaga expressed her readiness for the challenges of parenthood, saying, “Oh, I’m ready.”
Reflecting on the importance of family, Gaga said, “Family — it’s like the roots of the tree. They grow long, and sometimes they’re mangled, and sometimes they’re full with water, and sometimes they’re thirsty. Family is what makes you who you are, and it also defines your need for change.”
