Lana Del Rey Marries Alligator Swamp Tour Guide Jeremy Dufrene in Louisiana
Lana Del Rey, the renowned American singer and songwriter, has officially married Jeremy Dufrene, an alligator swamp tour guide, in Louisiana. The marriage was confirmed through a marriage license that was signed and returned to the Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court, where it was filed on Friday.
The ceremony took place on September 26 at 3:33 p.m. in Des Allemands, Louisiana, in the bayou where Dufrene works as a captain at Airboat Tours by Arthur. The officiant for the wedding was Judah Smith, a Los Angeles pastor who has also been associated with Justin Bieber. Smith is also credited as a co-writer on the track “Judah Smith Interlude” from Del Rey’s 2023 album “Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd“.
Del Rey, 39, and Dufrene, 49, obtained their marriage license on September 23, but it was not immediately returned and processed. In Louisiana, marriage licenses are required to be returned by the officiant to the issuing office within 10 days of the ceremony, although exceptions can be made.
The couple’s relationship has been the subject of speculation, with photos of them together dating back to 2019 when Del Rey took one of Dufrene’s tours. Del Rey, born Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, is celebrated for her nostalgic and romantic pop style, which often references images of vintage Americana. She has released nine studio albums and is best known for her Top 10 hit “Summertime Sadness” from her multiplatinum 2012 album “Born to Die“.
